There are many ways to change text in the text editor.

Select pre-formatted text from this drop down list.
Find window - Enter a word or phrase in the "Find what" box and this feature will locate it for you. Makes selected text italic.  If the text is already italic then it will be removed. Underlines selected text.  If text is already underlined then it will be removed. Underlines selected text.  If text is already underlined then it will be removed. Text colour. Text background colour.
