Data Centre - Audit and control of hard copy file storage and movements
Data Centre are an archival storage company. Apart from storage they operate
a same day delivery service where customers request a box of documents to
be returned for a short period. When items are no longer required, they
provide a confidential destruction service. For recording and tracking box
contents and locations, they used DOS program written in the mid-1980s.
This had developed a number of limitations over the years and it was time
to redevelop it.
FastDev took the bull by the horns and replaced the system with a Windows
based multi-user system. Apart from replacing and enhancing existing functionality,
we introduced new functionality allowing for the generation of exports,
printouts and the calculation of invoice amounts based on the location
and type of boxes. We also sourced additional PCs and set-up the network
on which it is used. We continue to provide ongoing support.
